Early after my first diagnosis, I realized how sterile and ostracizing the label of “cancer patient” can be, so I set out to help others feel like they are part of a community – or at least to be heard. I attended numerous conferences and retreats to learn everything I could about cancer and how to manager its effects on the mind, body, and soul. Over the next few years, I became an individual cancer coach, a Project LEAD certified with the National Breast Cancer Coalition, a certified Integrative Oncology Navigator with the Smith Center for Healing and the Arts, a You Can Thrive coach, and a Cancer Choices guide.
I wrote Your Dance with Cancer: Steps to Maximize Your Chances of Survival book to share not only my personal experience but also the learnings, tips, and resources I collected along the way, and an eight-part holistic approach to healing.
I am excited to have the privilege of creating this community and come along with you on your cancer journey, and I want you to know at the very least that you can do this, you can learn the steps and take the lead and possibly dance your cancer right out the door!
